Ingredients
5cupsRice Chex cereal
5cupsCorn Chex cereal
3cupsCheeze-Its
1cupmixed nuts
3/4cupbutter (1 1/2 sticks)
1/4cupWorcestershire sauce
1teaspoonseasoning salt (such as Johnny's)
3/4teaspoongranulated garlic powder
1/2teaspoongranulated onion powder
1/8teaspooncayenne pepper, or to taste
Instructions
For Preparing in a Microwave Oven
Line the bottom of a large baking sheet with several layers of paper towels. Set aside.
In a large bowl, stir together cereals, Cheeze-Its™, and nuts.
In a small bowl or a glass measuring cup, melt the butter in the microwave, about 1 minute on high.
To the melted butter, add the Worcestershire sauce, seasoning salt, granulated garlic, granulated onion, and cayenne pepper. Stir well.
Pour butter mixture over the cereal mixture and stir to coat the dry ingredients well. Place bowl with mix in the microwave and cook for 2 minutes on high.Remove and stir well.
Return the bowl to the microwave and cook for 2 more minutes on high. Remove and stir well.
Return bowl to microwave and cook for final 2 minutes on high. Remove, stir well, and pour out onto prepared baking sheet. Allow to cool. Store in a large food storage bag or other airtight container.
For Preparing in a Conventional Oven
Preheat oven to 250°F.
In large bowl, mix cereals, Cheeze-Its™, and nuts: set aside.
In a small sauce pot, melt butter.Stir in Worcestershire sauce, seasoning salt, granulated garlic, and granulated onions.
Pour over cereal mixture and stir until cereal mixture is evenly coated.Bake 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
Spread on paper towels to cool, about 15 minutes. Store in airtight container.
