Watergate Salad - This 1970's vintage 'salad', was originally named "Pistachio Pineapple Delight" by the Kraft company. It is totally addicting and seems to me to cross over into the dessert family!

Watergate Salad

This is it - the vintage recipe from the 1970's. According to the Kraft company, Watergate Salad was originally known as "Pistachio Pineapple Delight".

Ingredients

  • 1 (3.4 ounce) box instant pistachio pudding
  • 1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple, with juice (do NOT drain)
  • 1 cup miniature marshmallows
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 1/2 cups thawed non-dairy whipped topping, such as Cool Whip

Instructions

  • Mix together the pistachio pudding mix, crushed pineapple with juice, marshmallows, and pecans (if using).
  • Stir in the non-dairy whipped topping. Cover and chill for 1 or more hours.
