- 2 (15 ounce) cans pork and beans
- 1 medium onion, medium dice
- 1 medium green bell pepper, small dice
- ½ pound spicy pork sausage links, cut into chunks use a milder sausage if spiciness is a problem
- 2 tablespoons chili powder use less if spiciness is a problem
- 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 4 tablespoons vinegar
- ½ cup packed brown sugar
- ½ cup ketchup
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
Preheat oven to 350-degrees F. Oil a 9"x13" baking dish, set aside.
In a large bowl, combine beans (with liquid), onion, green bell pepper, and sausage. Add chili powder, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, brown sugar, ketchup, and garlic powder.
Pour into baking dish, cover, and bake for 1 hour. Uncover and stir. Bake for another hour or until liquid has reduced and sauce is at the desired consistency.
