Ingredients

  • 2 (15 ounce) cans pork and beans
  • 1 medium onion, medium dice
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, small dice
  • ½ pound spicy pork sausage links, cut into chunks use a milder sausage if spiciness is a problem
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder use less if spiciness is a problem
  • 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 tablespoons vinegar
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350-degrees F. Oil a 9"x13" baking dish, set aside.
  • In a large bowl, combine beans (with liquid), onion, green bell pepper, and sausage. Add chili powder, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, brown sugar, ketchup, and garlic powder.
  • Pour into baking dish, cover, and bake for 1 hour. Uncover and stir. Bake for another hour or until liquid has reduced and sauce is at the desired consistency.
