Cream Cheese Marshmallow Fruit Dip

Cream Cheese Marshmallow Fruit Dip

You’ve probably seen strawberries dressed up in red, white and blue like this for the 4th of July, BUT these do NOT have white chocolate.  They have my sister’s ridiculously easy fruit dip instead of the chocolate.

It’s almost embarrassing posting this easy fruit dip.  I mean, two ingredients and a little stirring, then you’re off to the races.  My sister, Leslie, made this dip for a recent bridle shower for one of our nieces.  Leslie said that she almost didn’t make the dip because she was embarrassed to serve something so simple.  I almost felt guilty for her.  What’s wrong with us?  Why do we feel that if something isn’t labor and ingredient intensive then we are somehow cheating?  Maybe Leslie and I have issues.  Maybe we ought to get something done about that.  Maybe we ought to build zen gardens in our back yards and work on our chi.

A zen garden.  That sounds nice.

In the meantime, I’ll just be content with the utter simplicity of this fruit dip.  However, if there is anyone out there who has simple food guilt like Leslie and me, I have included a few suggestions for a third ingredient to assuage your guilt.  And mine.

P.S.  The strawberries have been dipped in the…well…dip and then dipped in blue sanding sugar.  I did the strawberries just for a fun way to present this dip.  Please, feel free to serve the dip any way you choose, with whatever fruit you choose.  And please, please do not feel that you have to decorate strawberries.  Forever guilty ~Terri.

  • 1 (8 ounce) block cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1 (13-14 ounce) jar marshmallow cream

Mix the cream cheese and marshmallow cream together.  Chill, serve with fruit of choice.

Add-in ideas:

  1. colored sanding sugars to sprinkle on top for color
  2. sprinkle of cinnamon
  3. 1/2 teaspoon lemon zest

P.S. I also commented on your pretzel salad post. And I might as well throw in that the watermelon sherbet dessert idea is also genius even though I didn’t comment on that post.

This is my first time reading your food blog and I really like it. You’re doing an awesome job! Thank you for sharing all of your recipes with us.

This dip was the most requested item for lunch parties at work. My co-worker said that she adds 1 tsp of vanilla extract and it really brings out the flavor of the dip and fruit. It’s been years and I have forgotten about this dip, thank you for posting it! I am looking forward in becoming your regular visitor. Thank you, Tanya

Hi Tanya. Thank you for your thoughtful comments. Vanilla extract in this dip sounds like a great idea! I’ll have to remember to add it the next time I make this. ~Terri
