Hi everyone and thank you to those who entered the OXO give away! I had no idea that doing a give away would be so difficult because I’d like to be able to give something away to everyone who entered.
The winner, as chosen through Random.org, is KarlaJ who said, “It really is a toss-up between ranch and blue cheese. This salad is beautiful, perfect dinner for a hot summer evening.” Congratulations Karla. I will be contacting you by email. You have two days, until Monday July 30, 2012 at 7:00 PM MST to respond to the email to claim your OXO prize.
Thank you, also, to OXO for helping to sponsor this give away. Can I just say–The OXO vegetable peeler is the best one I have ever used? I have several of them! One of life’s simple pleasures is having even the smallest of my kitchen items work very, very well.

I LOVE your new kitchen! I am all about white cabinets. I am having fridge envy- though it looks like you had that fridge before the remodel? I bet you’re loving having a nice big island too! The kitchen MAY be my favorite hang-out spot in our house… so it’s a good thing to like it! I’m glad you took before/after/during pictures. It’s nice to see the “keeping it real” phases, plus the awesome finish. Great job!
Terri @ that's some good cookin'
Kristen, thank you! As per the fridge, yes we had it prior to the remodel. I had been looking for a new fridge for a couple of years and really wanted this particular refrigerator. It was cost prohibitive, so we watched and waited. Finally it went on sale for $800 off the listed retail price. Score!
The ‘keeping it real pics’ were almost too much for me to look at. I felt so depressed when I saw what my kitchen had been. From my perspective it had been a place of struggle and challenge and I had almost given up all hope in that place. Now, every single day when I walk into the new kitchen I say a little prayer of gratitude and almost feel embarrassed by the singularly significant miracle that it represents in my life. I do not feel worthy of such a great blessing.

I’ll second that. Perfect kitchen tools that work well, big or small, are the best!! Much like the guys need those power tools, we need good kitchen tools!!

Yep! If you don’t have working tools for the foundation work, then the whole process becomes a frustration. I HAVE to be able to peel my potatoes without arm wrestling with the stupid peeler! LOL.
