Salsa and Sour Cream Dipping Sauce

September 7, 2010 by Terri @ that's some good cookin' 4 Comments

This sauce is ridiculously easy.  The hardest part is finding the perfect salsa.  Get one with a little tang and a little heat.  The sour cream tones down the heat in the salsa, so don’t be afraid to get one with a little fire to it.

Use this sauce with Fried Green Tomatoes, as a dipping sauce for fresh vegetables, or on your favorite Mexican style food.

Salsa and Sour Cream Dipping Sauce
Recipe by Terri

  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup salsa (remember, get one that is on the hot side because the sour cream tones down the heat)
  • salt and pepper, to taste

Mix well.  (That is the really, really hard part.  Very hard.  I hope that you can handle it.)

The ratio of sour cream to salsa = 4:1.

Try adding taco seasoning for extra flavor! This has been a staple for parties and holidays at my parent’s home (and the rest of our extended family) for decades We always called it “Papa Bill Dip” 🙂
